Our Beginning

Wind-robin started in a small community hall in East Vancouver during the autumn of 2015. What began as a gathering of fifteen local potters and woodworkers has since expanded into one of Western Canada's most respected artisan marketplace networks.

The name came from our founder's grandmother, who called the varied thrush bird by its old folk name. Like that bird's distinctive song cutting through forest silence, we wanted our fairs to stand apart from generic flea markets and commercial expos.

What Drives Us

Mass production has flooded markets with identical goods stripped of character. We see our fairs as an antidote to that trend, places where buyers can meet the people who shaped each piece by hand and hear the stories woven into the work.

Beyond commerce, these events build relationships. Artisans exchange techniques, collaborate on projects, and encourage one another through the solitary challenge of creative work. Visitors return season after season, watching makers grow and evolve.
